The big news has apparently reached Nvidia, which could have a huge impact on chip sales and future promotions.
according to playersEVGA has terminated its contract with Nvidia and will stop manufacturing all graphics cards, including the RTX series and any other cards. The post states that the reason for said termination is due to “disrespectful treatment, among other things.”
The report continues that EVGA “will not explore relationships with AMD or Intel at this time” and that it will be completely exited from the video card market. The employees were told they would be taken care of, but details of this have been conflicting since the company had already killed its projects.
One of those projects was 20 EVT samples of the EVGA RTX 4090 FTW3 cards, which will not go into production. Her KINGPIN cards have also been cancelled.
This news comes right before Team Green is coming NVIDIA GTC 2022which is rumored to contain the upcoming Lovelace 4000 series chips, including GeForce RTX 4090.
What could this mean for Nvidia?
The loss of EVGA is a huge blow to Nvidia, as it is not only one of the largest manufacturers of graphics cards for the latter, but it is also used to produce sample chips that promote said chips.
And the timing couldn’t be worse for Team Green, given the upcoming GTC 2022 event on Tuesday, September 20th. The reason is particularly important because it is said to be due to Nvidia’s mistreatment of EVGA workers.
It remains to be seen how that will affect the tech giant, but this could create some serious ripples in the industry. And while EVGA currently won’t be compatible with AMD or Intel, this may always change in the future.
