Meta Quest Pro leak reveals first look at a new VR headset — and it looks legit

The Meta Quest Pro is set to launch at Meta Connect 2022 on October 11, but we may have already seen our first look at the new VR headset — thanks to leaked images and a video from… Zectariuz Games.

spotted before the edgecreator Ramiro Cardenas posted a video of a Meta Quest Pro that was apparently left unattended in a hotel room, according to last reddit. The clip shows the VR headset and controllers being taken out of a box bearing the official-looking “Meta Quest Pro” poster. In addition, the design of the upcoming Meta VR glasses looks identical to the renderings shown by the YouTuber SadItsBradley.

From the images and videos shown, we see Cardenas opening a box of a black headset and VR console, with the headset housing the three cameras on the visor. The consoles also look very different from the consoles in Meta Quest 2, since there is no loop in sight. Furthermore, the top of the displayed console contains what appears to be a small circular sensor that can be used to improve body tracking capabilities.

We’ve heard about VR controller cameras before, and Project Cambria could be the VR headset for using this type of body tracking device.

The Quest 2 Pro is said to have two new 2.38-inch, mini-LED displays, 2160 x 2160 pixels (an improvement over the dual LCD panels of 1832 x 1920 pixels from the Quest 2). The upcoming headset is also claimed to replace its 1P Fresnel lenses with a 2P pie-style design.

Speaking of Laptop Mag, SadlyItsBradley (Bradley Lynch) gets an unofficial rough draft model of the Quest Pro (which can also be called the Meta Quest 2 Pro). This may be the same model seen in the leak, such as Cardenas label appears From the VR headset box that states: “Not for resale – engineering sample.”

According to Lynch earlier this year, the Quest Pro has more mixed reality capabilities (AR and VR), and is now more customizable to fit the user’s head thanks to three IPD adjustments and a dial on the back of the headset that can be adjusted to tighten the device (can See it in the video).

Furthermore, the headset is lightweight and well-balanced, and the eye and face tracking is apparently excellent; The headset can pick up even open the nostrils.

While the purported Meta Quest Pro shown in the leak appears legitimate, there’s still a lot to discover – from how it works to its tracking capabilities. While we wait for the big announcement on October 11th, check out the best Quest 2 games right now.
