The official trailer for Black Adam has arrived online – and it’s given us our best look at the Justice League of America’s superheroes and the film’s primary villain.
The second teaser for the upcoming DC Extended Universe (DCEU) movie was released on YouTube and Warner Bros. on various social media channels on September 8, and it looks like it’s going to be a totally superhero flick but it’s fun.
Black Adam Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson star has consistently stated that the DCEU movie will change the power hierarchy in Warner’s cinematic comic book universe. Drawing on the moral complexities at the heart of Black Adam’s character, as well as those who appear among the film’s supporting cast, DCEU appears as if to embody this statement.

The latest teaser comes three months after the release of the first trailer for Black Adam. This two-minute teaser gave us the best look (at the time, anyway) yet at Black Adam’s unique brand of justice, as well as a hint at how he’ll likely team up against the hero with the superheroes he’s fighting for. .
Now, the movie’s second trailer offered a better sense of what to expect from the plot and the morally complex cast of characters in the movie, so expect a lot more into the drama-filled superhero’s modus operandi. Oh, and we got our first look at Sabbac, a demonic entity with similar powers to Black Adam, who is poised to be the main villain in the movie.
Black Adam will play Johnson as Teth-Adam, a native of Kahndaq who, according to the film’s official plot summary, “was granted the powers of the great gods. After using these powers for revenge, he is imprisoned, and Adam becomes black.”

Aldis Hodge (Leverage, Straight Outta Compton), Pierce Brosnan (James Bond, Mamma Mia!), Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, tagged), and Quintessa Swindell (Ecstasy, Voyagers) will portray the Justice Society quartet of superheroes . Sarah Shahi (Chicago Fire, The Rookie) will play Adrianna Tomaz, a college professor, while Marwan Kanzari will play Sabbac.
Jaume Collet-Serra (Orphan, The Commuter, Jungle Cruise) directing, with Adam Stekell (Unchangeable Revolution), Rory Haines (Mauritanian), and Sohrab Nochervani (Mauritanian) collaborate to write the film’s script.
Black Adam will be released worldwide in theaters on Friday, October 21. Additionally, it will arrive on HBO Max 45 days after its theatrical release.
