2K Games’ customer support account has been hacked by an unauthorized third party with illegal access to their credentials. A vendor that helps users on 2K platforms has been forced to send some customers a link that could compromise their email accounts, account passwords, banking, and more.
The 2K Support team sent a tweet yesterday Detailing the events and steps that users should take to ensure that their accounts are not hacked. After all, the information that could be stolen goes beyond just games related to 2K platforms. Users need to be very careful and from now on you should not open any emails or click on links from 2K Games Support.

If you click on a malicious link from 2K Games Support, there are some steps you should take to ensure your accounts remain secure.
1. Reset all passwords stored in your web browser. Anything that gets automatically filled in when you access a website may be at risk. If you’re curious about whether you should reset it, do it anyway. It’s better safe than sorry.
2. Use an antivirus application. Running Windows Security should be good enough to check if your computer has been compromised.
3. Enable MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) when possible. Anything that can put a second layer between you and your data is important, especially if your password is taken. 2K specifically recommends anything that uses an authentication app, as it is the most secure method.
4. Check your email accounts and make sure you don’t add forwarding rules without your knowledge. If so, the hacker could look at all your emails without your knowledge.
Follow these steps carefully and double-check to make sure you did them correctly. 2K reiterates that employees will never ask for a password or other personal information. Be careful and do not interact with 2K Games support emails at this time.
